Vermeer's  enigmatic paintings have inspired countless studies since his rediscovery in the second half of the nineteenth-century by French critic Thorč Burger. In the last two decades many aspects of his work  have come to light  which had remained hidden for centuries. Various scholarly books and  two major exhibitions dedicated to Vermeer have changed the way we perceive his life, work, and painting methods. Vermeer Pages would like to make a contribution to the research surrounding many questions of his art. It has been concieved especially for the weband hopes to stimulate a simple direct approach to a wider range of interests.
